July 2012

This month can be summed up by one word...insanity.  Seriously...I am sitting down at my computer to do things I WANT to do, not things I HAVE to do, and I'm reflecting over one of the busiest months of my life, so I need to write about it.  29 days ago I was at camp with 110 kids and 11 counselors. 26 days ago 25 of those kids prayed to receive Jesus as their Savior or prayed to affirm their faith in Jesus.  23 days ago I was going home from camp with 81 kids and 9 counselors...thanks to the flu bug that literally swept through camp.  For the last 7-20 days I've been working with our children's ministry staff to get ready for Summer Blast, our VBS event for 1,500+ kids and 566 volunteers.  Last week Summer Blast actually happened (it kinda felt for awhile like it never would)....and it was AMAZING!!  There's nothing like seeing 1,500 kids worshiping Jesus through singing and dancing, learning about Him through His Word, making new friends, and playing fun games.  The most exciting part, though, is hearing about the 225 kids accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior for the very first time.

I am exhausted...I've had one day off since July 1 and I've worked 380 hours this month...a normal month is around 160.  But guess what....if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing (except for all the barf at camp).  I love my "job"...my heart is full....and now I'm going to bed!

  1. I love you Amy and I love "working" with you! It makes those long hours at "work" so much more fun! 250 kids received Jesus into their heart between camp and Summer Blast and only Jesus knows how those 250 kids will impact His kingdom in years to come. So amazing to get to be a small part of what He's accomplishing around us!
